Uzbekistan participates in the legal dialogue within the CIS space

• 103MINSK, May 15. /Dunyo IA/. On May 13th, capital of Belarus hosted the CIS International Legal Forum, dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Commonwealth, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Director of the National Center for Human Rights, Academician Akmal Saidov, addressed the event from Uzbekistan via video message.
The event was attended by representatives of government bodies, international and regional organizations, as well as the scientific and expert community of the Commonwealth member states.
In his speech, Akmal Saidov emphasized the special significance of international legal dialogue as an important mechanism for strengthening mutual understanding, trust, and cooperation among the CIS states and also noted the relevance of further developing human rights interaction across the Commonwealth space.
The participants of the event drew attention to the role of international law in ensuring sustainable development, maintaining peace and security, as well as in promoting universal principles of human rights, the rule of law and justice. The importance of exchanging experience and coordinating efforts in the field of improving national legal systems, legal education and the institutional strengthening of mechanisms for protecting human rights and freedoms was noted separately.
The forum served as a significant platform for discussing topical legal issues related to the further development of multilateral cooperation within the CIS framework, as well as for developing common approaches to addressing modern challenges in the legal and human rights spheres.
