SAN FRANCISCO, September 16. /Dunyo IA/.  Representatives of the Uzbek diaspora in San Francisco participated in the city's Turkic culture festival “TurkFest SF 2026”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Within the framework of the festival, the compatriots organized a dedicated pavilion of Uzbekistan, where they presented the tourism potential of our country, national culture, traditions and customs, handicrafts, as well as dishes of the Uzbek national cuisine.

Pavilion of Uzbekistan generated great interest among residents and guests of the city. Visitors familiarized themselves with informational materials about Uzbekistan, its historical cities, and tourist destinations, inquired about travel opportunities to our country, interacted with diaspora representatives and took photographs at the national exposition.

Special attention was dedicated to the participation of Uzbek youth. Young compatriots were directly involved in organizing the event and presenting the national culture.

As noted by Kudratulla Rakhimkhodjaev, Head of the Uzbek Community Center of San Francisco Bay Area, one of the primary objectives of such efforts is to engage the younger generation in national traditions, familiarize them with the culture and preserve their connection with their historical homeland.

Consulate General of Uzbekistan in New York noted the importance of such initiatives by the Uzbek diaspora in promoting the country's culture and tourism potential in the United States, as well as preserving national traditions among the younger generation of compatriots.

“We will continue to support the active engagement of our compatriots and provide the necessary assistance in implementing new cultural and public initiatives. It is especially important that our youth is increasingly joining this work, gaining the opportunity to become more closely acquainted with their roots, culture, and traditions”, Uzbek diplomats stated.

Following the event, an agreement was reached to continue joint work with the Uzbek community of San Francisco in holding cultural and public events aimed at further promoting Uzbekistan in the United States and strengthening the ties of compatriots with their homeland.
