TASHKENT, September 16. /Dunyo IA/. A regular meeting of the Uzbek-Kazakhstani Joint Commission on International Road Transport was held in Samarkand, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Meeting, chaired by the First Deputy Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan Mamanbiy Omarov and Vice-Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan Maksat Kaliakparov, focused on the further development of international road transport links between the two countries, increasing freight and passenger traffic volumes, improving the permit system and expanding transit potential.

According to the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan, in particular, the parties agreed to establish a bilateral Working Group to implement a “seamless transit” mechanism, which provides for the simplification and digitalization of relevant procedures in the field of international road transport, reduction of administrative barriers, as well as a gradual transition to electronic document management.

A preliminary agreement was also reached on the introduction of an electronic permit form system starting from 2027 for the operation of irregular international passenger transport by road.

During the meeting, special attention was also paid to the development of road transport infrastructure and improving the efficiency of transport control.

Following the negotiations, the parties reaffirmed their interest in the further development of cooperation in the transport and logistics sector and agreed to ensure the practical implementation of the reached agreements.
