SEATTLE, September 15. /Dunyo IA/.  Seattle Public Library collection has been enriched with ten books representing Uzbek literature, history and national culture, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Initiative was implemented by the General Consulate of Uzbekistan. In this regard, a meeting was held with the library's management to discuss long-term cultural and educational cooperation, as well as expanding the representation of books about Uzbekistan and in the Uzbek language.

Works by Abdulla Qodiri, Pirimqul Qodirov, Odil Yoqubov, Oʻtkir Hoshimov, and Xudoyberdi Toʻxtaboyev, along with publications about Amir Temur and the national values of Uzbekistan, were handed over to the library.

Library management expressed strong interest in Uzbek literature and readiness to further enrich their collection with contemporary fiction, historical, popular science, and children's publications.

Parties also discussed the possibility of adding an Uzbek word or phrase to the linguistic diversity display of the Seattle Central Library, which currently features around 40 languages. Additionally, they explored establishing direct cooperation with libraries in Uzbekistan, including the exchange of books and electronic resources.

Furthermore, plans are underway to jointly organize an Uzbek Literature Week in Seattle, along with book exhibitions and other cultural and educational events.
