BAKU, July 23. /Dunyo IA/. A presentation of the Azerbaijani-language edition of “Maktubdir umrim” (My Life Is a Letter), a book by renowned Uzbek poet Shukhrat Orif, was held as part of the 2^nd Young Poets’ Festival of the Turkic World in Azerbaijan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The festival was organized at the Mugam Center in the city of Aghdam on the initiative of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY). The event was attended by Chairman of the World Young Turkic Writers Union, poet and publicist Intiqam Yashar, Secretary General of TURKSOY Sultan Raev, and Secretary of the Writers’ Union of Azerbaijan Salim Babullaoglu.

Also participating in the meeting were Rector Social Sciences University of Ankara Musa Kazim Arican, President of Authors’ Association of Türkiye Muhammed Enes Kala, representative of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan Akmurat Rajabov, as well as literary and cultural figures from various countries of the Turkic world.

The speakers emphasized that literary and cultural ties between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have continued to develop in recent years. In particular, they described the introduction of Shukhrat Orif’s works to Azerbaijani readers as an important event in promoting the shared spiritual values of the two brotherly nations.

The participants noted that the publication would make a significant contribution to the literary integration of the Turkic world, the enrichment of mutual translation traditions, and the expansion of cultural cooperation.

“Maktubdir umrim” was prepared within the framework of a joint project of the World Young Turkic Writers Union in Azerbaijan and the public association Regional Legal and Economic Education.

The project’s main objective was to promote the common spiritual heritage of the Turkic world, further strengthen literary ties between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, introduce contemporary Uzbek poetry to Azerbaijani readers, and develop literary and cultural cooperation among Turkic peoples.

During the presentation, detailed information about Shukhrat Orif’s literary work was presented, excerpts from the book were read, and it was noted that the publication represents a valuable contribution to the cultural life of the Turkic world.

At the conclusion of the event, the participants warmly congratulated the author and expressed confidence that the book would contribute to the implementation of new literary projects and the further development of cultural cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
