University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosts a Solemn Graduation Ceremony

TASHKENT, July 10. /Dunyo IA/. A solemn graduation ceremony was held today at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy for 510 graduates who successfully completed their bachelor's degree programs, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The event was attended by the graduates, professors, instructors, as well as representatives of state bodies and the diplomatic corps.
First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy Sodiq Safoev addressed the graduates with a welcoming speech. He noted that over the past few years, the university has undergone a large-scale transformation: educational programs were updated, the faculty was strengthened, cooperation with leading foreign universities was expanded and joint programs, including double degree programs, were launched.
Rector emphasized that all the ongoing transformations are aimed at training competitive specialists capable of working effectively in the fields of diplomacy, public administration, international relations, law, economics, and business. He urged the graduates not to stop at what has been achieved, to constantly improve their knowledge, study foreign languages, not to fear complex tasks, and to serve Uzbekistan with dignity. In his speech, Sodiq Safoev paid special attention to the need to maintain a connection with their alma mater, emphasizing that UWED is not just a diploma, but a large professional family and a recognized brand that its graduates must represent with dignity through their integrity, professionalism, culture and patriotism. He also expressed sincere gratitude to the parents for supporting the students throughout their period of study.
Within the framework of the ceremony, a video dedicated to university life and student achievements was demonstrated. Congratulatory remarks were also addressed to the graduates by the heads of Uzbekistan's diplomatic missions abroad and the heads of foreign diplomatic missions accredited to the country.
More than 50 graduates who achieved high academic results and demonstrated active participation in the university's public life were specially recognized. Remaining graduates were presented with their diplomas and certificates by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the leadership of UWED.
The solemn event concluded with a festive concert featuring performances by students and guest artists.
In 2026, 510 bachelor's students graduated from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. A significant portion of the graduates chose to continue their studies at leading universities across Europe, Asia and the USA. International relations, economics, political science, and jurisprudence remain the most highly sought-after fields.
Today, UWED actively cooperates with more than 60 foreign higher educational institutions, providing students with opportunities for academic exchange, participation in joint educational initiatives, and further studies abroad. Many of the university's graduates are already successfully working in state bodies, international organizations, diplomatic missions and business structures.
