BURSA, April 8. /Dunyo IA/. A series of events organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Ankara, in cooperation with Alisher Navoi Center for Uzbek Language and Culture was inaugurated at Bursa Uludağ University, was held in the Turkish city of Bursa, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The primary objective of the meetings was the extensive presentation of Uzbekistan’s rich cultural heritage and tourism opportunities, as well as the further strengthening of friendly and strategic ties between the two brotherly nations.

The events were attended by the university leadership, representatives of the Uzbek diaspora, students, experts and heads of major Turkish travel agencies.

The official segment commenced with a discussion of contemporary Uzbekistan’s achievements in the fields of culture and tourism. Participants noted that, thanks to the initiatives of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the country is revealing itself to the world from a new perspective by restoring unique monuments and developing modern infrastructure.

Particular attention was paid to the address by Professor Ferhat Kurtulmuş, Director of the Turkic World Research Center. In anticipation of the 690th anniversary of Amir Temur’s birth, he spoke on the historical role of the great leader, emphasizing that Sahibkiran’s vast legacy continues to serve as a foundation for the development of statehood and culture, not only for Uzbekistan but for the entire Turkic world.

During the meetings, it was repeatedly emphasized that large-scale projects, such as the construction of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Tashkent and the erection of the new Imam Al-Bukhari Memorial Complex in Samarkand, are generating immense interest in Türkiye. These sites are regarded as new symbols of the region's spiritual revival.

A significant part of the discussion featured a video presentation dedicated to the state visit of the Head of Uzbekistan to Ankara, which demonstrated the high level of political trust between the two nations.

The audience was deeply moved by the mention of the humanitarian initiative, under which 160 residents of Türkiye’s Hatay province, affected by the devastating earthquake, were invited to Uzbekistan to celebrate Navruz.

This noble gesture was hailed as a vivid example of the practical embodiment of the Uzbek-Turkish brotherhood. In parallel, representatives of the tourism sector, specifically the head of “Doris Tour”, Kadir Genç, introduced new itineraries for Turkish travelers and presented a Turkish-language magazine published by the Embassy, which details the compelling reasons to visit Uzbekistan.

The cultural program of the event concluded in the vibrant atmosphere of a Karakalpak yurt, where guests enjoyed traditional Uzbek plov and a festive concert.

The leadership of Uludağ University expressed profound gratitude to the diplomatic corps of Uzbekistan for organizing such a significant celebration and voiced confidence that such meetings will become regular, contributing to an even closer rapprochement between the two countries.
