Doha hosts briefing on the occasion of the 35th Anniversary of the Independence of Uzbekistan

DOHA, September 9. /Dunyo IA/.   Embassy of Uzbekistan in Qatar hosted a briefing for representatives of leading Qatari media outlets, dedicated to the 35th Anniversary of the country's Independence and the outcomes of the reforms implemented under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Event was attended by representatives from the “Qatar News Agency”, “Qatar TV”, “Al Jazeera”, “The Peninsula”, “Gulf Times”, “Qatar Media Corporation”, “Qatar Media City” and other media organizations, alongside prominent bloggers and influencers.

Participants were presented with the main outcomes of the socio-economic reforms in Uzbekistan, including the modernization of the economy, the development of entrepreneurship and infrastructure, investment attraction, poverty reduction, the strengthening of social protection and the advancement of education, healthcare and human capital.

Special attention was paid to Uzbekistan's foreign policy and the development of relations with Qatar. It was noted that bilateral cooperation has gained a new momentum in recent years, with Qatar becoming one of Uzbekistan's major strategic partners in the Middle East.

Parties also outlined prospects for expanding cooperation in energy, industry, transport and logistics, agriculture, tourism, and education.

During an open dialogue, representatives of the Qatari media demonstrated keen interest in the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan, the country's foreign policy initiatives and the further development of the Uzbek-Qatari strategic partnership.
