Philadelphia hosts meeting of Uzbek diaspora women entrepreneurs

PHILADELPHIA, December 23. /Dunyo IA/. A meeting of businesswomen from the Uzbek diaspora was held in Philadelphia, the largest city in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania, organised by the “Vatan” community in cooperation with the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in New York, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The event brought together active members of the diaspora engaged in entrepreneurship, civic initiatives, and social engagement, in a warm and constructive atmosphere. Participants discussed key issues related to the development of women’s entrepreneurship, expansion of employment opportunities for women and the strengthening of cooperation within the diaspora community.
Special attention was paid to preserving family values, reinforcing the institution of the family and nurturing the younger generation while living abroad. The participants emphasized the importance of women’s active participation in diaspora public life and the implementation of initiatives supporting fellow Uzbeks.
The meeting also featured presentations by companies operating in the real estate and legal services sectors, generating practical interest among attendees.
By the conclusion of the event, the participants agreed to further expand collaboration, including the creation of a Women’s Council with the support of the “Vatan” community, the implementation of joint projects involving women and initiatives to enhance their social and civic engagement. The proposal to establish a specialized advisory centre providing legal assistance to Uzbek women residing in the region also received broad support.
The event exemplifies effective cooperation between diaspora organisations and the Uzbek diplomatic mission, aimed at consolidating the community and supporting initiatives of Uzbeks abroad.
