ТАSHKENT, September 23. /Dunyo IA/.  Today, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Andijan Technopark in Khojaabad district and observed the production of smart water meters, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the press service of the Head of our State, despite its relatively small area, Andijan is one of the most densely populated regions of Uzbekistan. Particular attention is therefore paid to the efficient use of every piece of land, the development of hilly areas and the establishment of new industrial zones.

One such major project is Andijan Technopark, established in Khojaabad district with $300 million in foreign investment. A total of 51 industrial enterprises are planned to be established across 100 hectares of developed hilly land.

Once the industrial zone becomes fully operational, it is expected to create 3,000 new jobs. More than 50 types of products worth a total of $200 million will be manufactured annually, while annual budget revenues are projected to reach 160 billion soums. The region’s export potential is expected to increase by $50 million.

A smart water meter manufacturing plant has been established in the industrial zone in cooperation with the Chinese company Sanchuan. The $25 million project is financed entirely through foreign investment, with 80 percent of production processes automated using robotics.

The 5G-enabled smart meters, manufactured in cooperation with Huawei, allow online monitoring of water consumption and quality, the technical condition of equipment and water balance.

Plant manufactures 1 million smart water meters of 15 different types annually. The meters feature a special design that prevents water accumulation and a frost-resistant casing.

A dual education system has also been introduced at the plant.

By 2030, localization level is planned to reach 70 percent. To achieve this, enterprises manufacturing components and spare parts will be established within the industrial zone.
