Russia’s Kamchatka region observes event honoring eminent Uzbek figures Alisher Navoi and Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur

A cultural and educational event was held in Russia’s Kamchatka Krai, dedicated to the 585th anniversary of the birth of the great poet and thinker Alisher Navoi and the 543rd anniversary of the eminent statesman and poet Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Representatives of the Uzbek and other national diasporas in Kamchatka Krai, Uzbek students, as well as local writers and poets, participated in the event.
Special attention was given to the life and multifaceted creative heritage of Alisher Navoi and Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur. Speakers emphasized their invaluable contribution to the development of world literature, science and statehood, as well as the significance of their works in shaping literary and aesthetic thought. It was noted that the legacy of these great thinkers continues to serve as a source of spiritual inspiration and moral guidance.
The highlight of the event was the reading of excerpts from ghazals, rubai and poems authored by Navoi and Babur. These works, imbued with philosophical depth, humanism and high artistic culture, resonated as a living testament to the enduring power of their words.
Gulnoz Safarova, Chairperson of the Board of “Semurg”, Regional Public Organization of Uzbeks and Uzbekistanis in Kamchatka Krai, congratulated participants on the anniversaries and informed them about the extensive efforts being undertaken in Uzbekistan to comprehensively study, popularize, and promote the rich creative heritage of Navoi and Babur internationally, as well as to perpetuate their memory.
Additionally, the event featured a themed exhibition of Uzbek national costumes, musical instruments, traditional handicrafts, historical photographs of Uzbekistan and publications dedicated to the country’s history.
