KOKSHETAU, February 11. /Dunyo IA/.  A scientific and practical conference dedicated to the 585th anniversary of the birth of the great thinker and statesman Alisher Navoi, the 543rd anniversary of the birth of the prominent statesman, military commander, poet and historian, founder of the Baburid dynasty, Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur, as well as the renowned Kazakh poet Abai Kunanbayev, was held in the Akmola Region of Kazakhstan,  reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event brought together representatives of the youth wing of the Akmola Region, members of the Council of Elders, migration service officials, students of Shokan Ualikhanov Kokshetau University, as well as compatriots and migrants.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dosultan Aitbayev, First Deputy Akim of the Akmola Region, highlighted the dynamic development of Uzbek - Kazakh relations, emphasizing that cultural and humanitarian cooperation remains a solid foundation of bilateral dialogue. As a concrete example, he cited the growth in trade turnover between the Akmola Region and the regions of Uzbekistan, which in 2025 increased by nearly 67 percent with the support of the Embassy - a clear reflection of strengthening mutual trust and partnership.

In their remarks, representatives of the Uzbek Cultural Center, members of the academic staff of Shokan Ualikhanov Kokshetau University, diplomats of the Embassy, as well as diaspora leaders, focused on the life paths and creative legacy of Navoi, Babur and Abai, underscoring their distinctive role in shaping the common Turkic cultural space and promoting enduring humanistic values.

Particular attention was given to the initiative led by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to identify and repatriate facsimile copies of manuscripts by classical poets held abroad, highlighting this effort as a key component of preserving historical memory and strengthening national identity.

The participants also showed great interest in the theatrical and poetic performances by students, dedicated to the works of Navoi, Babur and Abai. Through words, imagery, and artistic interpretation, the young performers demonstrated that the legacy of these great thinkers continues to live on and resonates deeply with the new generation.

A practical continuation of the cultural dialogue was marked by the ceremonial presentation by the Embassy of books and educational materials, brought from Uzbekistan, to the ethno-cultural association “Uzbeks of the Akmola Region” and the region’s Central Library. The collection includes publications on the Uzbek language and literature, national history, as well as works by prominent Uzbek writers and poets.

The final stage of the event featured an informative session conducted by the Embassy’s consul with students and young compatriots. During the discussion, participants received guidance on consular registration, compliance with the laws of the host country and preventive measures against legal violations, including involvement in religious extremism and the illegal circulation of narcotic substances.

The event in Kokshetau served not only as a tribute to great historical figures but also as a vivid demonstration that cultural heritage remains a living bridge, connecting peoples, generations, and states.
