Karakalpakstan to cultivate potatoes based on Pakistan's experience

LAHORE, July 10. /Dunyo IA/.  As part of the visit, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan Farhod Ermanov and Ambassador of Uzbekistan Alisher Tukhtaev, met in the Punjab province with the Head of a specialized potato-growing enterprise of the Okara district, Rao Saad Ajman, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for introducing advanced Pakistani experience in cultivating high-yield potato varieties in Karakalpakstan, applying modern agro-technological solutions and developing bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector.

Pakistani side was invited to implement a joint investment project for the cultivation of potatoes in Karakalpakstan. Rao Saad Ajman supported the initiative, emphasizing an interest in developing potato production in the region and expanding the exchange of modern technologies.

Following the meeting, a Cooperation Agreement was signed, providing for the implementation of the project in Karakalpakstan. An agreement was also reached regarding a visit by the Pakistani partner to Uzbekistan as early as July this year to commence the practical implementation of the project.
