BURSA, August 24. /Dunyo IA/. An outreach consular reception was held in Bursa Province, Türkiye, aimed at protecting the rights and interests of Uzbek nationals residing in the region and marking the opening of a new building of the Honorary Consulate of Uzbekistan in Bursa, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Event was organized by diplomats of the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Istanbul. Participants toured the new Honorary Consulate premises and familiarized themselves with the facilities and conditions established there.

During a meeting with Honorary Consul Ali Baklan, the participants exchanged views on reviewing appeals from Uzbek nationals and ensuring the timely resolution of issues they face.

During the consular reception, citizens were given an opportunity to raise their concerns and proposals, while relevant explanations were provided on legal and consular matters.

As part of the visit, the delegation also familiarized itself with the operations of “Kurfezim”, a company engaged in the production of olive products. A meeting was held with Uzbek nationals employed at the enterprise, during which the parties discussed their working and living conditions, challenges arising in the course of their employment and their needs.

A meeting was also held with Uzbek nationals working in the construction sector in Bursa Province. They were provided with necessary information on labour rights, the requirements for legal employment in Türkiye, procedures for document processing and opportunities to access consular services.

During the meetings, citizens were advised to comply with the applicable legislation of Türkiye, formalize employment contracts, keep their personal documents safe, and, where necessary, seek assistance from the diplomatic and consular missions of Uzbekistan.

Following the visit, the importance of establishing regular engagement with Uzbek nationals residing and working in Bursa Province, addressing their appeals directly on the ground, and further strengthening consular and legal support was emphasized.
