TOKYO, September 24. /Dunyo IA/.  Parliament of Japan in Tokyo hosted the presentation of the book-album “The Chronicle of Independence”, dedicated to the 35^th Anniversary of the Independence of Uzbekistan, alongside a round table titled “Uzbekistan–Japan: Friendship, Trust and Cooperation toward the Future”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Event was organized by the Republican Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment of Uzbekistan, “Vatandoshlar” Public Fund and Embassy of Uzbekistan in Japan.

Meeting was attended by members of the Parliament of Japan, representatives of the “Uzbekistan–Japan” Parliamentary Friendship League, business and expert communities, universities, media outlets, as well as compatriots.

During the discussion, the participants highlighted Uzbekistan's 35-year journey of independent development, the ongoing reforms in the country, and the milestones achieved. Special attention was focused on the historical friendship, mutual respect and trust between the two nations, as well as the significance of interparliamentary ties in advancing the strategic partnership.

Chairman of the “Japan–Uzbekistan” Friendship Association and former Ambassador of Japan to Uzbekistan Fumihiko Kato, noted that the book-album “The Chronicle of Independence” provides a comprehensive overview of modern development and reforms in Uzbekistan.

According to him, substantial opportunities exist to expand cooperation in energy, transportation, medicine, telecommunications, IT, cinema, animation and education.

Event featured the screening of video materials dedicated to bilateral relations. The participants exchanged views on the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan, the country's development trajectory and the prospects for the bilateral strategic partnership.

Gathering aimed to broader familiarize the Japanese public with Uzbekistan's development over the years of independence and to further strengthen bilateral relations through interparliamentary and public diplomacy.
