Seattle hosts discussions on launching a Business Forum with Uzbek Companies

SEATTLE, October 8. /Dunyo IA/.  Consul General of Uzbekistan Akhror Burkhanov, met with the Director of the Seattle Office of Economic Development Beto Yarce, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the meeting, parties reviewed the development of trade and investment, the exchange of professional expertise between Tashkent and Seattle, as well as opportunities for corporate cooperation.

One of the proposals put forward was the organization of an Uzbekistan–Seattle Business Forum in Seattle. The forum is intended to showcase the investment and export potential of Uzbekistan, organize B2B meetings, and discuss specific trade and investment projects.

Particular attention was paid to companies operating in the fields of technology, artificial intelligence, healthcare, clean energy, aerospace, and logistics. The Seattle Office of Economic Development could provide assistance in engaging interested businesses to participate in the forum.

The sides also discussed the planned visit of the Khokim of Tashkent to Seattle. The itinerary is expected to include meetings with representatives of municipal authorities, the business community, the “Seattle Office of Economic Development” and “Greater Seattle Partners”.

A separate focus area was cooperation between startups. The parties are considering opportunities to connect Uzbek companies and startups with accelerators, incubators, and investors in Seattle, as well as to establish an entrepreneurial exchange program between Tashkent and Seattle.

Furthermore, the interlocutors discussed the development of logistics and air cargo transportation, including two-way product supply chains and interaction with airlines and logistics operators.

Seattle ranks among the largest technological and innovation hubs in the United States, serving as the home base for Amazon, Microsoft, Boeing, Costco, and Starbucks. According to Oxford Economics, the metropolitan area's GDP reached $632 billion in 2025, and the city secured the fourth position among 1,000 global cities in the Global Cities Index 2026.
