ISTANBUL, January 8. /Dunyo IA/. From January 12 to 15, Vienna will host Turkic Week, bringing together member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Vienna-based international organizations, diplomatic missions, and representatives of the Turkic diaspora to highlight the rich cultural heritage and growing global engagement of the Turkic world, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
According to the OTS Secretariat, the week will officially begin with the opening ceremony of the photo exhibition “Turkic World on the Silk Road” at the UN Office in Vienna. The exhibition, jointly organized by the OTS and the Turkic Academy, will emphasize the shared historical and cultural heritage of the Turkic world and its enduring role in global connectivity.
One of the key events of Turkic Week will be a high-level roundtable titled “From the Silk Road to the Middle Corridor: Promoting Connectivity through Transport and Trade Facilitation”, to be held at the OSCE building in the Hofburg. Participants will focus on transportation issues, trade facilitation, and the strategic importance of East-West connectivity.
In addition to these main events, Turkic Week will feature a Diaspora Capacity-Building Program, aimed at strengthening coordination, institutional capacity, and people-to-people connections among Turkic diaspora organizations across Europe. The program will be complemented by a gala concert featuring prominent Turkic artists, showcasing the cultural richness and artistic diversity of the Turkic world.
Turkic Week in Vienna is expected to become an important platform for promoting the strategic vision, cultural heritage, and cooperative programs of the Turkic world in Vienna’s multilateral environment.
