STOCKHOLM, September 25. /Dunyo IA/. An Independence Cup football tournament was held in the Swedish capital to mark the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The tournament was organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan and the Vatandoshlar Public Foundation. Teams made up of representatives of the Uzbek diaspora, Uzbek citizens working in Sweden and students residing in the country took part in the competition.

The final match was contested between the Dinamo and Turon teams. Following a closely fought game, Dinamo emerged victorious and claimed the Independence Cup.

The matches were held in a spirit of sporting competition and brought compatriots together around a shared event. The tournament contributed to strengthening friendship, solidarity and team spirit within the Uzbek community in Sweden.

Following the competition, participants and the most active players were presented with commemorative gifts.
