Second Meeting of Termez Dialogue on Connectivity between Central and South Asia Opens in Uzbekistan’s Capital

• 177TASHKENT, June 4. /Dunyo IA/. Today, the second meeting of the Termez Dialogue on Connectivity between Central and South Asia, themed “Peace, Connectivity, and Resilience: Shaping the Foundation for Shared Prosperity,” opened in Tashkent, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The opening ceremony featured remarks by Eldor Aripov, Director of the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies (ISRS) under the President of Uzbekistan.
Among the participants are Bakhromjon Aloyev, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan; Kaha Imnadze, Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia; Kairat Sarybay, Secretary General of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA); and Sergey Lebedev, Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), who is participating online.
Overall, the forum has brought together more than 150 representatives of political, business and expert communities, as well as international and regional organizations from Central and South Asia, Europe, the CIS, the South Caucasus, the Asia-Pacific region, the Middle East and the Americas.
Following the opening ceremony, a plenary session entitled “Political Dialogue and Economic Connectivity as Foundations for Sustainable Development in the CICA Region” will be held.
Notable that the forum is organized by the ISRS and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan in partnership with CICA.
