Syrdarya region of Uzbekistan to introduce cutting-edge technologies leveraging Hungarian experience in strategic development

Erkinjon Turdimov, Governor of Syrdarya region, and Ulugbek Khusainov, Acting Director of the Agency for Management Efficiency under the President of Uzbekistan, held a high-level meeting with Tibor Navracsics, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Public Administration and Justice of Hungary, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that strategic cooperation and the longstanding friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Hungary continue to develop steadily, reaching a new level of engagement. It was highlighted that these advances are the result of mutual trust and the consistent diplomatic efforts of the leaders of both countries.
The parties discussed the implementation of Hungary’s “Smart Villages” model as a pilot project in the Khavast District of Syrdarya Region of Uzbekistan. They also addressed enhancing administrative efficiency, modernizing, and digitalizing public governance systems.
Following the meeting, preliminary agreements were reached on the establishment of an Uzbek-Hungarian technology park spanning 50 hectares in the Khavast District of Syrdarya Region. The parties also agreed on holding a business forum in Budapest, inaugurating a Fisheries Faculty at Gulistan State University in partnership with Hungary’s MATE University, and implementing a series of joint projects.
A Memorandum of Understanding was also signed between the Agency for Public Administration Efficiency under the President of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Public Administration and Regional Development of Hungary, strengthening bilateral cooperation in the fields of public governance and civil service.
According to the document, the parties will implement joint activities, projects and training programmes in the areas of civil service, human resources management and public administration. Cooperation will also extend to the application of innovative governance methods, the enhancement of human capital efficiency and the advancement of regional development.
