VII Global Canine Forum of the World Customs Organization Opens in Tashkent

TASHKENT, September 7. /Dunyo IA/. This morning, the 7th WCO Global Canine Forum commenced its work in the capital of Uzbekistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Event is attended by the Secretary General of the World Customs Organization Ian Saunders, the Chairman of the Customs Committee Akmalkhuja Mavlonov, representatives of customs services from more than 50 states, and experts from over 15 international organizations.

Over the course of three days, participants will discuss modern methods of employing service dogs, the training of dog handlers, the detection of narcotics, the development of canine infrastructure, and the implementation of international standards.

Uzbekistan is hosting the WCO Global Canine Forum for the first time. Following the event, it is planned to adopt the WCO Compendium for Customs Canine Programs, as well as to sign memoranda of cooperation with the canine units of the customs services of Armenia, Russia and Hungary.
