Tashkent sets out further measures to reduce emissions and improve air quality

• 16TASHKENT, October 2. /Dunyo IA/. A press conference dedicated to improving air quality and the implementation of the nationwide “Toza Havo” (Clean Air) nationwide project was held at the Center for the Production of Content for Mass Media, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Event was attended by the Director of the Hydrometeorological Research Institute Doniyor Turgunov, Head of the State Ecological Control Inspection (Eco-Police) Nodirbek Jamburbaev, a representative of the “Toza Havo” nationwide project, Feruz Safarov, as well as representatives of ecological and public organizations, scientific institutions, and other structures.
Participants elaborated on the measures adopted to reduce harmful emissions from industrial enterprises and motor vehicles, strengthen ecological control and advance air quality monitoring. Particular attention was paid to the modernization of dust and gas cleaning equipment, the regulation of construction sites and the greening of the city.
Discussions also focused on the outcomes of the work accomplished and further measures to improve the ecological situation in the capital, including the expansion of the monitoring system and the implementation of modern environmental technologies.
As was noted, subsequent tasks have currently been designated to reduce emissions, expand PM2.5 monitoring, modernize enterprises, and increase green zones within the framework of implementing the “Toza Havo” project and the national ecological goals for 2026–2030.
