HATAY, June 15. /Dunyo IA/.   A grand opening ceremony was held in the Arsuz district of Türkiye’s Hatay Province for a residential complex constructed by Uzbekistan, which has become the foundation for the establishment of the “Uzbekistan Mahallasi”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Additionally, Shavkat Mirziyoyev Boulevard, along with Tashkent and Samarkand Streets, were officially inaugurated.

The event was attended by a delegation from Uzbekistan led by the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis Nuriddin Ismoilov; Khokim of the Khorezm Region Jurabek Rakhimov; as well as the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Numan Kurtulmuş; Governor of Hatay Province Mustafa Masatlı, alongside representatives of local authorities and the general public.

During the ceremony, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Numan Kurtulmuş, emphasized that this initiative stands as an expression of the sincere gratitude of the Turkish people and state to the people of Uzbekistan.

-  Today, it is a source of special pride for us to immortalize names in Arsuz that reflect the great historical and cultural heritage of Uzbekistan. This step symbolizes the respect and appreciation for the Uzbek people, who stood by us and extended their support during our most difficult days”, - he noted.

In his speech, Numan Kurtulmuş characterized Uzbekistan as one of the most vital centers of Islamic civilization and the Turkic world, emphasizing the high achievements of the reforms implemented under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as well as the “New Renaissance” initiative.

Governor of Hatay Province Mustafa Masatlı, in turn, highlighted the practical assistance provided by Uzbekistan following the devastating earthquake on February 6, 2023.

-  On behalf of the residents of Hatay, I express my profound gratitude to the friendly and fraternal people of Uzbekistan. Naming this residential complex “Uzbekistan Mahallasi”, which was officially inaugurated during the visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Ankara in January of this year, serves as a vivid symbol of the eternal friendship between our nations”, - Governor stated.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the participants ceremonially cut the symbolic ribbon to mark the inauguration of Shavkat Mirziyoyev Boulevard, as well as Tashkent and Samarkand Streets.

It should be noted that this residential complex stands as an important example of Uzbekistan's humanitarian assistance aimed at the rehabilitation of Hatay Province. The event served as another vivid testament to the strategic partnership and fraternal relations between the two nations.

The ceremony received extensive coverage in Türkiye’s central and regional mass media.
