ROME, June 15. /Dunyo IA/.  At the initiative of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Rome, a presentation was held for the “Business Matching Platform”, a digital platform developed by Italy's state investment bank, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP), reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event, titled “Italy Meets Uzbekistan”, was attended by representatives from the Embassy of Italy in Tashkent, the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), the export credit agency SACE, the investment agency SIMEST, the General Confederation of Italian Industry (“Confindustria”) and the CDP bank. Uzbek side was represented by officials from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan. More than 260 business representatives from both nations joined the online event.

Welcome remarks were delivered by the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Italy Abat Fayzullaev, the Ambassador of Italy to Uzbekistan, Guido De Sanctis, the Advisor to the Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan Jasur Karshiboev, and representatives from CDP. The participants noted that trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Italy has been consistently developing and strengthening in recent years.

Uzbek side provided detailed information on the country's ongoing economic liberalization reforms, the unhindered functioning of the foreign exchange market, the simplification of tax and customs procedures, the creation of favourable conditions for foreign investors, as well as the support for new projects through free economic and small industrial zones.

During the presentation, CDP representatives outlined the capabilities of the “Business Matching Platform”. This platform serves as a free digital tool designed to identify business partners among Italian and foreign companies, match business profiles, select the most compatible partners utilizing advanced algorithms, establish direct contacts and facilitate virtual B2B meetings.

Separately, Renato Spagnolo, Director of the Italian company “Cotonella”, addressed the event, sharing the company's experience in implementing a textile project in the Kukdala district of the Kashkadarya region. He highly appreciated the practical support provided by Uzbekistan’s state institutions, the professional competence of the local workforce, and the extensive opportunities existing within the country's textile industry.

Following the event, it was announced that targeted B2B meetings between companies from Uzbekistan and Italy would be organized through the CDP platform in the coming weeks.

This event will serve as an important practical platform for expanding direct contacts between companies of the two nations, utilizing modern digital mechanisms for B2B interaction and leveraging Italy's financial and institutional support tools to implement promising projects in Uzbekistan.
