China accounts for the Largest Number of Foreign-Invested Enterprises in Uzbekistan

TASHKENT, July 20. /Dunyo IA/.  As of July 1st, 2026, the number of operating enterprises with foreign investment in Uzbekistan reached 20,502, surpassing the 20,000 threshold for the first time in history, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the information of the National Statistics Committee, out of the total number of enterprises, 4,611 operate as joint ventures, while 15,891 are fully foreign-owned entities.

Statistical data also demonstrates a sustained positive trajectory. Over the past five years, the number of operating foreign-invested enterprises in the Republic has increased 1.4-fold, reflecting the steady strengthening of the country's investment attractiveness and the expansion of international business cooperation.

The largest number of enterprises with foreign capital was registered with the participation of investors from the People's Republic of China, totalling 6,060. This is followed by the Russian Federation (3,454), Türkiye (2,293), Kazakhstan (1,307), Republic of Korea (725), Afghanistan (685), Azerbaijan (473), Tajikistan (455), the United Arab Emirates (440) and India (426).

According to experts, surpassing the milestone of 20,000 foreign-capital enterprises confirms the growing interest of international investors in Uzbekistan's economy. The expansion of global investment presence facilitates the creation of new jobs and manufacturing facilities, the introduction of modern technologies, the development of export potential, and the strengthening of the country's integration into global economic processes.
