CHEONGJU, July 21. /Dunyo IA/.  South Korean city of Cheongju hosted a futsal tournament among compatriots, organized ahead of the Peoples' Friendship Day, which is celebrated in our country on July 30th, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Event was held with the support of the Association of Uzbeks in South Korea and the Seoul Representative Office of the World Association of Youth of Uzbekistan.

Competition featured 16 teams formed by students from South Korean universities, as well as young compatriots employed in manufacturing, service and other industrial sectors across various cities of the country. Teams consisting of citizens from Tajikistan and Kazakhstan also participated in the tournament as guest competitors.

Following the conclusion of the tournament, the winning team was awarded the grand prize - a “Spark” passenger car. The runners-up were also presented with valuable commemorative gifts.

Within the framework of the event, a meeting with compatriots was held, during which it was underscored that hosting such sports tournaments contributes to consolidating the unity of Uzbek citizens abroad, fostering amicable ties, and enhancing a profound sense of belonging to the homeland among the youth.
