Uzbekistan develops projects to build Modular Data Centers

FRANKFURT AM MAIN, September 18. /Dunyo IA/. Representatives of the Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan and the German company “The Vault Partners” held a video conference to discuss the implementation of projects in digital infrastructure and data centers, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the online meeting, organized by the General Consulate of Uzbekistan in Frankfurt am Main, specialists from “The Vault Partners” shared insights into the company's activities, experience and completed projects in data centers, digital infrastructure and high-performance computing. They also presented their vision for a potential entry into the Uzbek market.

Parties paid particular attention to the prospects of establishing a modern data center infrastructure in Uzbekistan capable of meeting the growing demand for computing power, specifically for the advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies.

According to the company, “The Vault Partners” is considering the possibility of implementing projects in Uzbekistan to build small-scale modular data centers, with an estimated capacity ranging from 10 to 50 MW each. This approach allows for the phased development of digital infrastructure, taking into account available energy resources and existing infrastructure.

Representatives of the Ministry of Digital Technologies presented Uzbekistan's investment opportunities in data center construction and development, as well as the main directions of the state policy for developing the digital economy and Artificial Intelligence (AI) infrastructure.

Special attention was paid to the potential of Karakalpakstan, including the region's available energy and infrastructure resources, along with the prospects of utilizing renewable energy sources.

Ministry representatives also familiarized the potential investor with tax and other incentives provided for projects in data centers and cloud services, as well as special conditions for investors.

In particular, incentive measures for large-scale projects valued at over $100 million were presented, including projects in data centers and cloud services. These measures include opportunities for accelerated land allocation, connection to external infrastructure and other support mechanisms.

Parties discussed further cooperation and potential areas for developing the investment project, including power supply, site selection, infrastructure conditions, technical parameters, investment volume and legal and organizational matters.

Following the meeting, representatives of “The Vault Partners” confirmed their interest in further studying Uzbekistan's investment potential and exploring opportunities to enter the Uzbek market.
