ТASHKENT, January 22. /Dunyo IA/. According to Presidential Decree No. PF-173 of Uzbekistan dated 19 September 2025, titled “On Conducting the Population and Agricultural Census in the Republic of Uzbekistan”, Uzbekistan is conducting a nationwide Population and Agricultural Census from 15 January to 28 February 2026, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
A population census is a periodic process of collecting and processing personal data that determine the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the population as of a specified reference date. It is conducted across the entire territory of Uzbekistan or within its individual regions.
The primary objective of the census is to obtain reliable and objective information on the current status and dynamics of the population structure in Uzbekistan, which is necessary for identifying and implementing priority areas of state policy in the country’s socio-economic and socio-political development.
The population census is conducted in two stages. From 15 to 31 January, online registration is carried out through the portal “census.stat.uz” using the OneID system, including for employees of government bodies and organizations.
From 4 to 28 February, members of the “mahalla seven” conduct door-to-door visits and organize registration using tablets.
The confidentiality of personal data is guaranteed by law, and the information provided in the questionnaires is not shared with other authorities. The census program covers the main socio-demographic indicators of the population.
