Expanding the Uzbekistan-Poland Academic Partnership discussed in Warsaw

WARSAW, April 28. /Dunyo IA/.  Uzbek diplomats met with Waldemar Siwiński, the founder of the Perspektywy Education Foundation and president of the “IREG Academic Ranking and Excellence Observatory”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the outcomes of the “Central Asia – European Union” University Congress and the Forum of Rectors of Poland and Uzbekistan, both of which were held in Samarkand in April this year. The foundation's founder specifically highlighted the high organizational level of these events and expressed gratitude on behalf of the Polish academic community.

According to Waldemar Siwiński, these events contribute to the further strengthening of the close cooperation established between the universities of Poland and Uzbekistan and are viewed as a model format of interaction for the countries of the European Union and Central Asia.

During the negotiations, issues of expanding educational and scientific cooperation were also considered, specifically focusing on intensifying the exchange of students and researchers. At the initiative of the Uzbek side, the parties discussed the possibility of a delegation of more than 20 students and young researchers specializing in Information Technology and STEM fields participating in the international “Perspektywy Women in Tech Summit 2026”, which will be held on June 10-11th , 2026, in Warsaw.

Waldemar Siwiński noted that the summit is one of the largest technological events in Europe, annually attracting more than 10,000 participants. At the same time, he expressed his readiness to ensure the active participation of the Uzbek delegation in the event's program and to provide practical assistance in establishing cross-industry contacts.

Furthermore, he proposed an initiative to jointly organize an international “Women in Tech” event in Uzbekistan at the Central Asian level in 2027-2028.
