NAGOYA, June 16. /Dunyo IA/. Embassy of Uzbekistan, in cooperation with the Nagoya City Hall, organized a large-scale presentation event entitled “Uzbekistan Day: The Charm of Tashkent’s Partner City” in the main conference hall of the International Center, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the presentation, reports and video materials were presented, dedicated to the rich cultural heritage of Uzbekistan, its centuries-old history, and the outstanding ancestors of the Uzbek people, particularly Amir Temur and his descendants, who made a significant contribution to the development of world civilization. Particular attention was paid to the unique architectural monuments of the country’s ancient cities located on the Great Silk Road.

The participants were also provided with information on the friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Japan, the tourism potential of our country, national cuisine, as well as the modern development of Tashkent and the prospects for its further growth.

In her speech, Miyuki Satake, Deputy Director for International Relations of the General Coordination Department of the Nagoya City Hall, noted that cooperation with Tashkent has significantly intensified since the signing of the agreement on interaction in tourism and cultural exchange on December 18, 2019.

It was emphasized that promotional campaigns to popularize Tashkent using branded buses are regularly conducted in Nagoya, alongside online excursions, concerts, cultural events, tourism exhibitions, and presentations. It was separately noted that restaurants of Uzbek national cuisine and shops selling national goods successfully operate in the city.

The event was also attended by former JICA volunteer Yasuaki Mori, who spoke about his activities in Uzbekistan in 2022–2024 at the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan, the Japan Digital University, and a number of general education institutions. According to him, he was deeply impressed by the Uzbek youth’s striving for knowledge, as well as their interest in artificial intelligence, digital technologies and robotics.

Within the framework of the event, the rich cultural heritage of Uzbekistan, national traditions, and the country’s modern tourism opportunities were widely covered. The guests were presented with samples of embroidery and artistic wood carving, national costumes, as well as information and promotional materials demonstrating the republic’s tourism potential.

The event participants showed great interest in the historical monuments and modern tourism infrastructure of Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva, expressing their desire to visit Uzbekistan in the future.

At the conclusion of the event, the guests were served traditional Uzbek pilaf, which became a vivid symbol of the Uzbek people’s hospitality.
