LONDON, October 12. /Dunyo IA/. A team from the Ministry of Defence of Uzbekistan has won a silver medal at the prestigious Exercise “Cambrian Patrol 2026” international military competition held in Wales, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Competition brought together over 140 patrol teams from nearly 35 countries, including the United Kingdom, the United States, France, Germany, Italy, Pakistan and Kazakhstan. Participants were required to endure gruelling tests over 48 hours across mountainous, marshy and rugged terrain.
Teams covered a distance of approximately 70 kilometers while executing reconnaissance operations, navigating simulated combat scenarios, overcoming tactical obstacles, and providing casualty evacuation. Participants also demonstrated operational capabilities under Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) threat conditions.
International experts highly commended the readiness of the Uzbek team and its proficiency in executing the designated tasks.
Exercise “Cambrian Patrol” has been conducted since 1959 and is currently organized by the British Army's 160th (Welsh) Brigade. It aims to foster international military cooperation, facilitate the exchange of professional expertise and test the operational readiness of units.
Participation in such competitions enables Uzbek servicemen to refine their professional skills, familiarize themselves with modern tactical approaches, and strengthen interoperability with foreign military partners.
It is worth noting that in October 2023, servicemen from Uzbekistan won an international competition in South Korea organized according to NATO standards. At that time, the second place went to teams from the United States and the Republic of Korea.
In February of this year, reconnaissance personnel from the Ministry of Defence of Uzbekistan secured first place at the 9th “Team Spirit” international competition in Pakistan, delivering a record-breaking performance of 97.3% of the maximum points.
