TASHKENT, April 5. /"Dunyo" IA/. The Presidents of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met in Khiva, reports "Dunyo" IA correspondent.

According to the press service of the head of our state, issues of further strengthening strategic partnership and alliance and enhancing comprehensive practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan were discussed.
Particular attention was paid to the issues of accelerating cooperation projects and implementing investment agreements and trade contracts in accordance with previously reached agreements at the highest level.
The heads of state heard reports from Deputy Prime Ministers and co-chairs of the Working Groups under the Intergovernmental Commission on promoting joint projects in mechanical engineering, energy, transport and logistics, mining, textile and food, and other industries.
The presidents gave specific instructions to increase trade turnover, formulate a long-term industrial cooperation program, and implement infrastructure projects in transport and energy.
It was noted that starting practical work on creating an International Center for Industrial Cooperation this year and expanding the activities of a joint foreign trade company is crucial.
The issues of developing humanitarian and tourism ties and holding joint events in culture, education, and sports with the participation of young people were discussed in detail.
Views were exchanged on regional issues, in particular, the rational use of water resources, deepening cooperation within the framework of the Consultative Meetings of the Heads of State of Central Asia, and the development of the situation in Afghanistan.
The schedule of the upcoming joint events in bilateral and multilateral formats was considered.
The meeting took place in a traditionally open, warm, and friendly atmosphere.
