KAHRAMANMARAŞ, April 17. /Dunyo IA/. A seminar and a presentation of the project “Following the Ancient Word”, aimed at studying and promoting the Uzbek language, were held at Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University in the Turkish city of Kahramanmaraş, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Event was attended by representatives of government authorities, the academic community and youth organizations, as well as scientists and students from universities in Türkiye and Uzbekistan. During the meeting, it was noted that the development of humanitarian cooperation between the two countries is becoming systematic and long-term.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the university's rector, Ibrahim Taner Okumuş, emphasized that the historically established cultural ties between Türkiye and Uzbekistan are being consistently strengthened through the expansion of academic interaction. According to him, such projects play a vital role in preserving the shared linguistic and literary heritage and passing it on to future generations.

As part of the program, thematic panel sessions were held, dedicated to the shared literary and cultural heritage of the two countries. Participants discussed the prospects for expanding joint scientific research and deepening inter-university cooperation.

As noted during the presentation, the “Following the Ancient Word” project is aimed at strengthening partnerships in the field of linguistics. It provides for the exchange of experience between teachers and researchers, as well as the implementation of joint scientific works dedicated to the similarities and historical links between the Uzbek and Turkish languages.

Initiative is coordinated by Associate Professor of the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages, Doctor of Philology Muhammad Iqbol Guler, and Turkish researcher Mehmet Kahraman. Project is expected to contribute to the expansion of scientific research on the Uzbek language in Türkiye and further strengthen academic ties between the two countries.
