Uzbek National launches new International Platform to support women in Sweden

LUND, September 17. /Dunyo IA/. Swedish city of Lund hosted the official opening of “Woman World Global Sweden” (WWG Sweden), an organization established to support women, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Rakhmatulla Nurimbetov, representatives and faculty members of Lund University, scholars, representatives of civil society institutions, experts and guests from various countries.
Founder and head of WWG Sweden, Ozoda Islamova, noted that the organization aims not only to create new opportunities for women but also to establish sustainable international linkages between women of different nations, academic circles, civil society institutions and professional communities.
“Today, we are opening more than just the doors of one organization. We are opening new opportunities for a future in which the voice of women will resonate louder and their participation in education, knowledge accumulation, economic empowerment, and decision-making processes will expand”, she stated.
According to her, the practical experience gained in Turkiye, including working with social, legal and economic issues of women with migratory and transnational life experiences, has become an important foundation for the development of international activities of WWG Sweden.
WWG Sweden intends to combine this experience with the academic and institutional capabilities of Sweden and develop joint initiatives and projects between Sweden, Uzbekistan and Turkiye, as well as at the international level.
