Large-scale charity event dedicated to Eid al-Adha held in Novosibirsk

• 196NOVOSIBIRSK, May 29 /Dunyo IA/. The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Novosibirsk organized a large-scale festive charity event dedicated to Eid al-Adha, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The event brought together compatriots working in the capital of Siberia, Uzbek students studying at leading universities in Novosibirsk, as well as low-income families of compatriots.
Opening the event, Consul General of Uzbekistan in Novosibirsk Aslam Akbarov warmly congratulated compatriots on the occasion of Eid al-Adha and noted that, even while far from their homeland, they continue to demonstrate true solidarity, devotion to their country, and commitment to the ideals of Independence.
It was emphasized that the organization of the festive charity event became yet another confirmation of the consistent policy pursued by the leadership of Uzbekistan aimed at supporting compatriots living abroad, preserving national traditions, and strengthening the unity of the Uzbek diaspora, including in Russia’s Siberian Federal District.
Special attention was paid to the words of the President of Uzbekistan that the traditions of Eid al-Adha serve as a source of strength and inspiration in promoting an atmosphere of peace and harmony, friendship and mutual understanding, support for the elderly, women, and youth, as well as assistance to those in need.
Guests of the evening expressed sincere gratitude to the President of the country for his constant care and attention toward compatriots living abroad, wishing him strong health and continued success for the prosperity of Uzbekistan.
During the event, representatives of the Uzbek diaspora shared their impressions.
Activist of the Uzbek diaspora in Novosibirsk, Omatoy Khujamova, noted that the festive dastarkhan was being organized in such a format for the first time in Novosibirsk and holds special significance for all compatriots.
“This is a very important event in the life of the Uzbek diaspora in Novosibirsk, which further strengthens our love for the Motherland and unites us around the interests of our people and country, - she emphasized. -Never before have we felt such sincere care and attention toward compatriots living abroad”.
Public catering sector employee Gavkharoy Abdullayeva expressed joy at the opportunity to celebrate the great holiday together on Siberian soil.
“We are all immensely happy that we can celebrate this great holiday together on Siberian soil around a common dastarkhan. Earlier, we could not even dream of such a thing, - she said. - All of this is the vivid result of the policy of our respected President, who thinks day and night about the well-being of the multinational people of Uzbekistan.
We, compatriots in Novosibirsk, are full of strength and determination to continue contributing to the prosperity of our Motherland.”
