DUBAI, June 28. /Dunyo IA/. On June 25, a citizen of Uzbekistan, A.R., contacted the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Dubai, reporting that he, together with his spouse P.G.U. and their child A.Z.R., had found themselves in a difficult life situation and requested assistance in returning to their homeland, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
According to available information, the mentioned citizens arrived in Dubai on December 5, 2025, for seasonal work purposes. However, due to the lack of stable employment, they purchased return tickets to Uzbekistan for early January, but were unable to depart because they missed their flight.
Later, the family temporarily earned income through occasional jobs; however, after the situation in the Middle East worsened, they almost completely lost the opportunity to find employment and were forced to live in various mosques. It is also noted that after the expiration of their visa-free stay period, fines were imposed on them.
During negotiations with the immigration service of Dubai, it was established that each family member had to pay a fine of 9,000 dirhams (about 2,500 US dollars), which totalled 27,000 dirhams (about 7,500 US dollars).
As a result of negotiations with the competent authorities of the UAE, an agreement was reached allowing the citizens to leave the country without paying the fines.
Additionally, with the assistance of the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children, airline tickets for the Dubai–Tashkent route for June 26 were purchased, after which the family was safely returned to Uzbekistan.
