Uzbekistan receives nearly 30,000 Head of Cattle from the Altai Republic of Russia

NOVOSIBIRSK, August 7. /Dunyo IA/. Another batch of livestock has been dispatched from Gorno-Altaysk to Uzbekistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the General Consulate of Uzbekistan in Novosibirsk, Altai Republic of Russia currently remains one of the key partners of our country in the field of animal husbandry, including breeding. At the same time, central focus is placed on the supply of cattle to our country.

By the end of last year and during the first few months of 2026, nearly 30,000 head of cattle were exported to Uzbekistan from the Altai Republic.

Notably, there are currently 6 enterprises in this Russian region authorized to export cattle, the total population of which in the republic presently exceeds 196,000 head.

In May 2025, a joint Working Group on cooperation in the field of animal husbandry was established between the General Consulate of Uzbekistan in Novosibirsk and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Altai Republic.

At the same time, increasing the supply of horses and small ruminants—specifically goats—to Uzbekistan is also of significant importance. For instance, LLC “Kayral” from Gorno-Altaysk continues to actively cooperate with the company “Naslchilik” from the Kashkadarya region. In 2025 alone, 2,300 goats of the Gorno-Altai breed were delivered to the Uzbek side, whereas in 2024, the volume of supplies amounted to 930 head.

Thus, there is a noticeable and highly substantial increase not only in the delivery of cattle breeds such as Simmental and Hereford to our country, but also in small ruminants.
