A Pakistani company intends to establish a pharmaceutical logistics hub in Uzbekistan

• 121ISLAMABAD, May 25. /Dunyo IA/. The Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Alisher Tukhtaev, visited “Shaigan Pharma”, one of Pakistan's largest pharmaceutical companies and held talks with its head Wahid Ahmed, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the visit, comprehensive information was presented on the company's modern production processes, technological capacities, product range, and export potential. The Ambassador also toured the manufacturing facilities for medicines and vitamin complexes, observing the quality control systems and adherence to international standards. Particular emphasis was placed on the company's research, development, and innovation activities.
During the negotiations, the Uzbek side outlined the ongoing initiatives aimed at developing the national pharmaceutical sector, attracting foreign direct investment, and establishing high-value-added production facilities. Specifically, the sides discussed the strategic advantages offered within the “Tashkent Pharma Park” Innovative Pharmaceutical Cluster, including fiscal and customs incentives, advanced infrastructure, and favorable conditions for project implementation.
The sides discussed the prospects for localizing production, organizing joint export-oriented manufacturing, and accessing the markets of Central Asia and the CIS countries through Uzbekistan. Particular emphasis was placed on the country's strategic geographical location and its potential as a regional logistics hub.
The parties also reviewed the initiative to establish a modern logistics hub in Uzbekistan with the participation of “Shaigan Pharma” to ensure the streamlined supply of products to Central Asian and CIS markets.
The company's leadership expressed interest in expanding cooperation with Uzbekistan and confirmed their readiness to visit the country with a business mission in July this year to discuss joint projects and inspect pharmaceutical and logistics facilities.
Founded in 1993, “Shaigan Pharma” is one of Pakistan's leading pharmaceutical manufacturers. The enterprise produces more than 200 types of products, including vitamins, dietary supplements, antibiotics, and other medicines, exporting them to countries in Africa, the USA, Canada, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and other nations.
