Pakistani company to establish modern textile cluster in Namangan

ISLAMABAD, June 20 /Dunyo IA/. With the support of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, a visit to Uzbekistan was organized for Director of Pakistan’s “Diamond Group of Industries” Aqib Nasir, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the visit, the delegation held talks with Deputy Director of the Agency for the Development of Light Industry of Uzbekistan Rukhullo Zikrillayev.
The discussions focused on ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan’s textile and light industry sectors, efforts to enhance the investment attractiveness of the industry, and the expansion of high value-added production.
Particular attention was given to the initiative to establish a modern textile cluster in a free economic zone in Namangan region. The parties considered opportunities for creating a full production cycle, including deep processing of cotton fibber, yarn and fabric production, as well as manufacturing of finished garments and knitwear products.
The sides also discussed prospects for introducing advanced technologies, creating new jobs, increasing the deep processing of local raw materials, and developing export-oriented production.
According to the company director, “Diamond Group of Industries” has extensive experience in the production of textile, household, and industrial goods and is ready to develop long-term cooperation with Uzbekistan and implement investment projects in Namangan region.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to further study the technical and economic aspects of the project, continue working-level contacts, and develop practical mechanisms for cooperation.
