Pakistani Company expresses interest in investment projects in Uzbekistan

KARACHI, September 7. /Dunyo IA/. During his visit to Karachi, Ambassador of Uzbekistan Alisher Tukhtaev held negotiations with Arif Habib, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Pakistani company “Arif Habib Group”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the meeting, the Pakistani side was briefed on the economic reforms in Uzbekistan, conditions for foreign investors and the country's regional economic potential.
Parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the production of mineral fertilizers and chemical products, energy-efficient building materials, metal structures and industrial components.
Opportunities for implementing joint projects on the construction of residential and multifunctional complexes, logistics and industrial parks, as well as hotel and tourism infrastructure were also reviewed.
Special attention was paid to the development of the capital market, including the valuation of enterprises under privatization and preparing for IPOs, providing them with financial services and attracting foreign investment.
Arif Habib noted the high interest of Pakistani business in the investment climate of Uzbekistan and announced the intention to study investment opportunities in the country to access the markets of Central Asia.
Head of the company also expressed interest in the stock market of Uzbekistan, foreign exchange transactions, privatization processes, and the activities of the newly established Tashkent International Financial Centre.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to organize a visit of the “Arif Habib Group” delegation to Uzbekistan.
