ROSTOV-ON-DON, September 7. /Dunyo IA/.  A delegation of Uzbekistan, led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Olimjon Abdullaev, met with the Governor of the Rostov Region of Russia Yury Slyusar, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the negotiations, prospects for the further development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Rostov Region, the expansion of trade, economic and investment ties, industrial cooperation, as well as interaction in the fields of education, tourism and labour migration were discussed.

Special attention was paid to strengthening interregional interaction, developing direct contacts between the business communities of the two countries, attracting enterprises of the Rostov Region to implement investment projects in the free economic zones of Uzbekistan, as well as studying the issue of establishing a permanent exhibition and trade pavilion for products of Don manufacturers in the “Ayritom” Free Trade Zone in the city of Termez.

Russian side expressed interest in expanding the geography of interregional cooperation, including through the establishment of sister-city ties between the municipalities of the Rostov Region and the cities and districts of Uzbekistan.

In the context of protecting the rights and legitimate interests of our country's citizens, issues regarding the proper processing and issuance of employment patents, compliance with legislatively established procedures, as well as the prevention of unjustified delays and other obstacles during their issuance were considered.

Prospects for expanding partnerships between educational institutions, including in the field of technical personnel training, were also discussed.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue working on the identified areas of cooperation, as well as to organize a visit of the Governor of the Rostov Region Yury Slyusar, to Uzbekistan in the spring of 2027, including visits to a number of the Republic's regions and holding relevant events.
