Surkhandarya and Mogilev Regions of Belarus sign Cooperation Agreement

MOGILEV, September 8. /Dunyo IA/. A delegation from Surkhandarya Region, headed by Khokim Ulugbek Kosimov, met with Chairman of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee Anatoly Isachenko during its visit to Belarus, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Meeting was also attended by representatives of the region’s business community.

Parties discussed joint projects in the agro-industrial sector, furniture manufacturing, social development and tourism, as well as the expansion of trade and logistics and access to international markets.

Anatoly Isachenko noted that following the recent visit of a working group from Surkhandarya, the parties had already reached initial agreements, while 14 new enterprises with Uzbek capital participation had been established in Mogilev Region.

“Establishing enterprises is only the first step, and this work needs to continue. We are ready to cooperate and will spare no effort to provide assistance in any area where it is needed”, Chairman said.

Ambassador of Uzbekistan Nodir Mamajonov said that following the ten-day visit of the working group, eight new projects in livestock development had been developed. He emphasized that the negotiations also covered industry, agriculture and the food sector, which is expected to contribute to expanding bilateral trade.

Following the meeting, the parties signed an agreement on trade and economic, scientific and technical, and cultural cooperation, as well as a “Roadmap” for its implementation in 2026–2028.

As part of the visit, the Surkhandarya delegation also familiarized itself with the operations of “Mogilevliftmash” and “Rassvet” agricultural enterprises.
