Another Uzbekistan – Malaysia business forum сonvened in Tashkent

TASHKENT, June 25. /Dunyo IA/. A joint business forum between Uzbekistan and Malaysia took place in Tashkent, initiated by the Uzbekistan–Malaysia Business Alliance, the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kuala Lumpur, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

At the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy and Water of Malaysia Fadillah bin Yusof delivered welcoming remarks.

The event brought together around 200 delegates, including representatives from more than 80 Malaysian public institutions and private companies such as FIVE Petroleum Malaysia, Next Green Global, KK Group, and N.U.R. Power, as well as over 70 Uzbek participants from companies including Uzavtosanoat JSC, Uzelectroapparat, Tashkent Tractor Plant, Global Textile, and others.

The forum featured B2B and B2G meetings, which resulted in a number of investment and trade agreements. The following key documents were signed:

– Agreement between Malaysia’s FIVE iRock and Uzbekistan’s Uzbekneftegaz JSC to establish a joint venture aimed at advancing digital transformation in Central Asia’s energy sector;

– Memorandum of Understanding between Nextgreen Global Berhad (Malaysia) and Global Textile (Uzbekistan) on producing cellulose, paper, organic fertilizers, and animal feed from cotton waste;

– Memorandum of Understanding between Aseana Trillion (Malaysia) and Havas Group (Uzbekistan) to organize retail sales of ready-to-drink coffee beverages;

– Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Uzbekistan–Malaysia Business Alliance and the Economic Assembly, a non-governmental organization in Uzbekistan.

The Uzbekistan – Malaysia Business Alliance was established on July 5, 2024, at the initiative of a group of Malaysian business representatives in close cooperation with the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kuala Lumpur. As a non-governmental organization, it aims to support Malaysian and Uzbek entrepreneurs in strengthening partnerships across trade, investment, tourism, and other sectors.
