Training courses in Hangzhou open new opportunities for Uzbek medical professionals

HANGZHOU, June 3. /Dunyo IA/. A closing ceremony was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, for a training program organized for representatives of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event marked a significant step in strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and China in the field of healthcare.

The training course, focused on "Pediatric Life Support", took place from May 25 to June 2 and was jointly organized by the Future Smile Charitable Foundation and the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan.

A total of 17 specialists, including pediatricians, pediatric anesthesiologists, and resuscitation specialists, participated in the training, which was hosted by "Sir Run Run Shaw" Hospital and conducted under the guidance of highly qualified Chinese professionals.

The closing ceremony was attended by representatives of Future Smile Charitable Foundation, the Children’s Hospital affiliated with Zhejiang University, and the "Sir Run Run Shaw" Medical Consortium, underscoring the importance of the initiative for all involved stakeholders.

In his remarks, Michael Wu, President of Future Smile foundation, emphasized the importance of establishing close cooperation with Uzbekistan and expressed readiness to further expand the partnership. He noted that to date, the foundation has provided medical equipment, children’s clothing, and educational materials to Uzbekistan, amounting to $50,000 in total.

Michael Wu highlighted that the dedication of Uzbek doctors to acquiring advanced knowledge and expertise demonstrates the strong potential of this collaboration.

In a framework of the event, an agreement was reached between a training participant, Chief Physician of the Karakalpakstan Children’s Hospital, and Future Smile to explore the possibility of conducting pediatric surgeries in Nukus with the involvement of Chinese specialists in the second half of this year.

The Chinese side also expressed willingness to continue organizing professional development programs. The event concluded with the presentation of certificates to the trainees. The delegation returned to Uzbekistan on June 2, having gained valuable experience and new tools to enhance the quality of healthcare services in the country.
