Uzbekistan and Egypt discuss the organization of production of Neonatal Incubators

CAIRO, July 17. /Dunyo IA/.   Representatives of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan held negotiations with the leadership of the Egyptian company “Medical Engineering Group” (MEG), reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Sides reviewed issues of establishing a long-term industrial partnership and developing domestic production of medical equipment in Uzbekistan to strengthen national medical security.

Uzbek side presented information on the possibilities of organizing production in free economic zones, including on the territory of “Tashkent Pharma Park”, as well as on the conditions for providing land plots, preferential tariffs and tax preferences for investors.

Representatives of MEG noted that they consider the project as a socially significant initiative aimed at reducing infant mortality. The Egyptian company proposed to transfer technology and know-how, as well as to organize the training of local specialists.

Within the framework of the project's implementation, options were proposed for creating a joint venture with state participation or attracting a reliable private investor backed by state procurement guarantees.

Following the results of the meeting, the Egyptian side requested data on Uzbekistan's demand for neonatal incubators, the existing medical equipment base and the capabilities of the local industrial infrastructure. After receiving this information, the sides plan to continue discussing the format of further cooperation.
