Uzbekistan and Türkiye strengthen cooperation in the transport sector

• 99ANKARA, December 18. /Dunyo IA/. A delegation of Uzbekistan, led by Ilkhom Makhkamov, Minister of Transport, paid a working visit to Türkiye, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Ilkhom Makhkamov, Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan, held talks with Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye, focusing on further strengthening bilateral cooperation in transport and logistics. Particular attention was given to expanding collaboration in road, rail and air transport.
The sides exchanged views on simplifying road transit procedures, reducing logistics costs, and enhancing the efficiency of freight transportation processes, with a view to facilitating smoother regional and international connectivity.
Members of the Uzbek delegation also familiarised themselves with modern motorways and road infrastructure projects currently under development in Türkiye. Discussions covered the establishment of exchange mechanisms for best practices in advanced engineering solutions and innovative technologies applied in the design, construction and operation of transport infrastructure, as well as prospects for introducing modern technologies in motorway maintenance and management.
Both sides expressed their readiness to continue cooperation on a systematic basis, noting that such engagements would contribute to the further deepening of strategic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Türkiye in the transport sector.
