Uzbekistan expands industrial partnership with regions of Turkiye

ANKARA, September 26. /Dunyo IA/. With the support of Uzbekistan’s diplomatic missions, delegations comprising representatives of the "Uztextileprom" and "Uzcharmsanoat" associations, along with industrial zones from Bukhara, Namangan, Kokand, and Kasbi, visited several cities in Turkiye, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Working groups visited Istanbul, Bursa, Izmir, Konya, Denizli, Aydin, Kahramanmaraş, and Gaziantep, holding B2B meetings with more than 85 potential Turkish companies in the textile and leather-footwear industries. The Uzbek delegations also familiarized themselves with the operations of these enterprises.

During meetings with city mayors and provincial governors of Denizli and Aydin, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in Uzbekistan’s light industry sectors, particularly in textiles and footwear manufacturing.

Discussions included further expansion of bilateral trade and economic ties, the creation of joint ventures involving Turkish companies in Uzbekistan, and increasing the volume of mutual trade.

In cooperation with regional chambers of commerce and industry, presentations were held for Turkish companies highlighting the industrial potential of the regions of Uzbekistan specializing in textiles and leather-footwear production. Topics included sourcing mechanisms, the establishment of joint marketing offices, and the relocation of production facilities to Uzbekistan.

Apparel brands "DeFacto" and "Bebetto" expressed interest in exploring opportunities to enter the Uzbek market and establish partnerships with local manufacturers.

As a result of the negotiations, agreements were reached on the utilization of unused buildings and facilities in cooperation with Turkish firms, as well as on the revival of idle textile and leather-footwear enterprises.

Furthermore, the parties agreed to organize visits of Turkish business missions to Uzbekistan and define specific terms of cooperation within the framework of upcoming exhibitions: Uzbek Import Fair 2025, "Heimtextil Uzbekistan – 2025", and "UzCharmExpo 2025", scheduled for October this year.

The Uzbek delegation also established cooperation with several Istanbul-based marketing firms, developing an action plan to effectively promote Uzbek products in the Turkish market, enhance brand recognition, and expand distribution channels.

Additionally, it was agreed to establish leather product exports to Uzbekistan with the support of the The Footwear Industrialists Association of Turkiye (TASD).
