RIYADH, February 16. /Dunyo IA/. A delegation led by Olimjon Davlatov, visiting Saudi Arabia, held a meeting at the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The meeting was attended by the Center’s Secretary-General, Princess Maha bint Mohammed Al-Faisal and Dr. Yahya Mahmoud bin Junaid, Director of the Center for Research and Intercommunication Knowledge.

The parties explored ways to strengthen Uzbek - Saudi cooperation in literature, translation studies, Islamic history, and the arts. Particular emphasis was placed on the mutual translation of literary heritage, including classical Arabic works into Uzbek and outstanding works of Uzbek literature into Arabic.

As a result of the meeting, it was agreed to establish a dedicated department at the King Faisal Center focused on the history, literature and arts of Transoxiana. This unit will serve as a scholarly platform for research and cultural dialogue between academics from both countries.
