Uzbek Cultural Heritage Recognized at International Art Exhibition in Shanghai

SHANGHAI, June 12. /Dunyo IA/. On 11–12 June, the 16th International Exhibition of Traditional Fine Arts was held in Shanghai with the participation of Uzbekistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event was organized by the Changning District Administration, the Shanghai Art Collection Museum, the Shanghai New International Expo Center, and the Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism.

Around 150 well-known artists, applied arts masters, and experts from more than 30 countries took part in the forum, including Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Russia, Armenia, Japan, Qatar, Pakistan, Croatia, and the Czech Republic. Uzbekistan was represented by Bakhtiyor Khasanov, Director of the State Museum of Memory of the Victims of Repressions.

Within the exhibition, Uzbekistan presented its cultural and historical heritage along with works by Uzbek artists. The displayed works attracted significant interest from visitors and received high evaluations from specialists.

Hu Muqing, President of the Shanghai Art Collection Museum, noted that the Uzbek exhibition stood out for its originality and rich cultural content. She stated that traditional art has no borders and such exhibitions serve as an important bridge of friendship and mutual understanding between peoples of the East and West.

Participants emphasized that Uzbek artworks are distinguished by deep philosophy, strong artistic expression, and diversity. The exhibition was described as an important step in strengthening cultural and humanitarian cooperation between Uzbekistan and China.
