BANGKOK, May 1. /Dunyo IA/. Diplomats from the Consulate General in Bangkok participated in the international symposium titled “Thailand and Central Asia: Strengthening Sustainable Ties and Forging New Partnerships in a Changing Eurasia”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event was hosted by Chulalongkorn University and coincided with the official inauguration of the Center for Central Asian Studies at the university's Institute of Asian Studies.

The symposium was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and the diplomatic corps, leadership from the university and the institute, as well as delegates from cultural and educational organizations, media outlets, airlines, and travel agencies, alongside compatriots residing in Bangkok.

A dedicated exhibition zone highlighting Uzbekistan was organized as part of the symposium. Guests were presented with commemorative albums, traditional costumes, artisanal exhibits, and folk crafts, alongside promotional materials - including banners, booklets, and brochures -showcasing the country’s tourism potential.

The participants were also shown video presentations featuring Uzbekistan's preeminent historical figures and thinkers, such as Amir Temur, Avicenna (Abu Ali ibn Sina), Alisher Navoi, Al-Beruni, Imam al-Bukhari, and Babur, detailing their profound contributions to world history and the advancement of civilization. Furthermore, the exhibition featured projects such as “Cultural Future”, “Renaissance” and the Center of Islamic Civilization, complemented by promotional videos highlighting Uzbekistan's tourism opportunities.

During the meetings, various proposals were put forward to further enhance bilateral cooperation. Specifically, the parties discussed the possibility of organizing lectures on the history and culture of Uzbekistan at Chulalongkorn University featuring Uzbek scholars, as well as establishing student exchange programs between the higher education institutions of the two countries.
